Sometimes my overwhelming appreciation for Los Lobos borders on self-parody. But it’s not that: they’re just a great band. Listen to this live version of “Tomorrow Never Knows,” a Beatles’ song The Beatles never played live. (You can skip to 1:03 if you just want the song.)
And note that it’s sung by Cesar Rosas, who is left-handed (like McCartney) and not even the band’s primary singer (which is David Hidalgo, the taller gent on the right with the gold guitar, who is playing a backward-masked guitar solo and interpreting pyschedelic tape loops in regular forward time). They’ve got a deep bench.
